TRADITIONAL KITCHEN

-There are various types of kitchen cabinets, with an array of choices in materials, sizes, styles, and colors to suit your kitchen. There are also various construction types. Framed cabinets, which are popular in traditional kitchens, have a front frame around the cabinet opening. The door attaches to the frame. Frameless, or European-style cabinets, have no front frame. The door attaches directly to the side of the cabinet. Frameless cabinets are mostly used in contemporary kitchens and rarely in traditional designs. There are no advantages for one over another, the amount of space taken up is the same. Selection is a matter of preference.

The term “Traditional” is very general. Originally a “traditional kitchen” implied a warm and classic style, with elements of English and French schools of design. Today, this term implay many styles and doesn't necessarily lean heavily in any one direction. You can easily find functional cabinet design with many upgrades, including pullout shelves, full extension drawers and base, and wall Lazy Susans. A traditional design works best in traditional homes with natural materials (e.g., marble, brick, stone, and even handcrafted wood) on the floors and cabinetry.

CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN

-Contemporary kitchens have increasingly gained popularity in the modern era, thanks to their beautiful, refreshing look and functional designs. The materials used in contemporary kitchen cabinetry range from wood or thermofoil to stainless steel or glass. When wood is used, it is usually clean grained like cherry or maple, or made of renewable materials such as bamboo.

Contemporary kitchens use the universal design principles that focus on flexibility and intuitive use, and allow for an easy clean up and a durable functioning. The cabinets are easy to access, with pullout shelves, sliding full extension drawers, Lazy Susans and bluminition doors. An important aspect of contemporary design elements is the fact that regardless of which style of contemporary kitchen cabinets are chosen, there are always accessories and other complementary elements to suit them. For example, a common focus of contemporary kitchen design is the lighting, which is usually pronouced and adjustable, such as track lighting. Installing lights under and/or over the kitchen not only ensures increased visibility during food preparation, but also highlights the stunning details of your new contemporary kitchen cabinets and the design interiors. Likewise, the contemporary design is also showcased by other elements of the kitchen, including the walls, countertops, faucets, sinks, and knobs. So, if you have decided to adopt a clean, simple look, check out the contemporary kitchen cabinets that will continue to provide a source of joy for years to come.
